Water quality modelling

IRAP, CNR-IRSA, VITO, IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi worked together to implement a modelling strategy to analyse the changes in water availability and quality in response to a range of water management interventions, consisting of different degrees of wastewater treatment and disposal and water use efficiency improvements in various sectors.

The WEAP (Water Evaluation and Planning System) model, preceded by the spatial emissions inventory approach of the WEISS model will be used to develop a regional water quantity and quality modelling approach for urban planners / water authorities to explore scenarios for mitigation measures  (technical and non-technical) and water resources planning and management.
