In Kanpur the focus of the service was the monitoring and assessment of the water quality of the treated wastewater that is delivered to downstream villages for irrigation.
In New Delhi the focus was monitoring the water quality in the open drains at selected locations and monitoring the performance of pilot technologies running at the Barapullah innovation site.
The mobile water quality monitoring service was used to deliver information that is of relevance to the benchmark assessment of the two case areas. In addition, training will be given to interested stakeholders so that a participatory monitoring approach can be established.
