The 5th India - EU Water Forum on Water Cooperation was organized from 27-28th October in New Delhi. The aim of the forum is to bring together a wide range of stakeholders from both India and the EU and its Member States with the objective to exchange views on good practices, regulatory approaches, business solutions and research and innovation opportunities in the water field in India and the EU.
On the first day, the findings from the Pavitra Ganga project were presented during the technical session on research and innovation between the EU and India with the Indian Department of Science and Technology. Topic the uptake of research and innovation in India by businesses.
On the second day a delegation of 18 participants, comprising of representatives from the International Meuse Commission, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Embassy of Finland, GIZ and Alef Eco visited the Pavitra Ganga demonstration site at the Barapullah Drain, New Delhi.
The delegation was informed about the holistic approach of our project and the inclusivity of aspects of policy, technology, innovation, and community by Mr. Anshuman, Director of the Water Division at TERI. Professor T.R. Sreekrishnan and Professor Shaikh Z. Ahammad along with the IIT Delhi team explained the present technologies, such as Photo Activated Sludge and the online monitoring sensors placed at the Barapullah Drain. This was followed by an extensive round of questions, answers and suggestions.
